Following are the transcriptions of the "Death Record" and "Necrology" articles for 1891, from The Oakland Daily Evening Tribune.

Necrology.

Cornelius Callaghan, 41 years of age, who has been a bookkeeper for William Walsh on Peralta street for several years died of consumption yesterday, and his funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from his late residence, 1319 Peralta street. A solemn requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church. The deceased was a native of Clonka?ty Ireland, and was an honest, estimable man.

The youngest child of George and Margaret Smith died yesterday at their home on Dwight Way, Berkeley.

Alfred D. Cartwright, an old resident of this city, died last night at his residence, 771 Fourteenth street, after a lingering illness. The deceased was a native of New York, 53 years of age, and leaves a family. His body will be embalmed and shipped to Rocklin, Placer county, on Monday morning next by Sewell & Leitch.

Michael Fitzgerald died last night at his residence in Emeryville. Deceased leaves a family and will be buried in St. Mary's Cemetery tomorrow. He was 50 years of age.

Necrology.

The death of Mrs. Catherine Newland occurred yesterday at her residenence [sic], 1677 Valdez avenue, after a suffering of over three years from cancer. Deceased was the wife of Edward Newland, the capitalist, and was a native of Canada, 56 years old, and had resided in Oakland thirty-one years. A daughter is Miss Sophie Newland, the well known singer.

The body of an old veteran named McCamant, who died at the Agnews Asylum, was brought to Brown's undertaking parlors yesterday. Deceased was the husband of Emma McCarmant, and is the father of several children.

News has been received here of the death of Captaim James N. Patterson, at Hueneme, Ventura county, on the 5th of this month, after a brief illness. The deceased was a pioneer resident of this city, and formerly owned what is known as the Patterson ranch in Brooklyn township. He was a native of Londonderry, N. H., and was born in 1810.

Necrology.

Francis McGuire died at his residence near Temescal, on Wednesday night last. The deceased was the husband of Elizabeth McGuire, and left a number of children. A solemn requiem mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church tomorrow morning for the repose of his soul.

Word has been received in this city of the death of Thomas F. Walsh, at Vallejo. The deceased was the father of Will V. Walsh of this city.

Mrs. Phoebe W. Overacker, wife of A. A. Overacker, died in San Francisco last Wednesday at the age of 73 years. The deceased was a native of New York and lived in Niles in this county.

The corpse of the unknown man supposed to be that of J. McGowan, a deserter from the United States Army, who was horribly ground to pieces by a Berkeley local train on Monday night were buried yesterday by Corones Evers. No word has yet been received from the Presidio in answer to the Coroner's request for information as to the man's identity.

The funeral of Mrs. Caroline Rading was held this afternoon from the funeral parlors of Henry Evers. The deceased was 66 years of age and her husband survives her. Her death occurred on Wednesday last at the Centennial House of bronchitis.

Daniel Cronin, a native of Ireland, 52 years of age, died yesterday afternoon of gastric ulcer at his residence, 870 East Sixteenth street. His funeral will be held tomorrow from St. Anthony's Church and the interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The deceased was for a long time the driver of Engine No. 4 of the Fire Department. He leaves a family.

Mrs. Maggie Schaefer, 27 years of age, died at 865 Lydia street this morning, after a brief illness. The deceased was a native of Boston and her funeral will take place Sunday.

Coroner Evers will hold the body of Percy Phinney who committed suicide at the Hansen House on Monday last, until next week. No word has yet been received of his relatives, and the body has been embalmed. If they do not claim the body in a few days, it will be buried in the potter's field.

Necrology.

The funeral of the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Haller, of 1461 Ninth street, aged 14 months, occurred this afternoon at 4 o'clock.

The funeral of John Dohs, one of the best known barbers on the Pacific coast, took place yesterday afternoon from his residence, 1665 Twelfth street. The deceased leaves a widow and six children.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Jerry Denny took place yesterday from St. Patrick's Church. It was one of the largest funerals that have taken place for some time. It will be remembered Mrs. Denny died in childbirth during her husband's absence in the East.

The funeral of Edward B. Burbank, the eleven year old son of George D. Burbank of Lorin occurred this afternoon from the Congregational Church of that place. Mr. Burbank's wife recently died.

The death of George A. Macdonald, aged fourteen months, occurred last Saturday afternoon at 861 Twenty-second street.

Silas J. Holmes died at 1411 1/2 San Pablo avenue on Saturday of consumption. The deceased was a native of Michigan and unmarried.

This afternoon at two o'clock the funeral of Samuel Smith of Claremont was held from the Welch residence on College avenue. The Veterans of the Mexican War had charge of the funeral. The deceased was 70 years of age and single and was a veteran of the Mexican war.

Necrology.

Rev. Isaac L. Morton died at 1013 Third street yesterday at the age of 83 years. The deceased was an old-time colored preacher. He was a native of Virginia.

The funeral of the late Robert Hall Belcher took place yesterday afternoon from his residence, 1143 Myrtle street, under the direction of the Masonic and Workmen lodges. Rev. Dr. McLean officiated.

Necrology.

The funeral of the late Hilliard M. Miller, formerly chief officer of the Japanese Customs Services, was attended by a large throng. Services were held at the family residence, 678 Sixteenth street. Rev. Dr. Horatio Stebbins officiated. The following gentlemen acted as pall-bearers: Alfred Barstow, J. W. Protasco, Frederick Lox, David McKay, J. H. Brewer, J. S. Kennedy, S. Lathrop and Frederick Whitney.

Martha F. La Due, who died at 2520 Clement street, Alameda, was the mother of Rev. William K. La Due, pastor of the Methodist Church at that place. The body will be shipped to Portland, Or., today by Undertaker Albert Brown.

Mrs. Maggie Powers died at Claremont in childbirth. The infant died also, and mother and child were buried together.

Robert Chisholm, a capitalist, 78 years of age, died at 526 Sixteenth street last Tuesday night. The remains have been embalmed by Sewell & Leitch, and will be sent to New York for burial. The deceased leaves a wife and four children. The funeral services were held at the house this afternoon.

Necrology.

Nicolaus Bremer, a well-known German rancher, died at his home on Moss avenue last Saturday. The deceased was a single man, 67 years of age. The funeral was held today.

Marie F. Hubbard, a native of New York, aged 38 years, died of diphtheria, Saturday, at 1426 Tenth street.

William J. Hu?idan, a child 1 month old, died in spasms at Lorin yesterday.

Margaret McMillan died yesterday at the residence of her son, the well-known grocer at Seventh and Market streets. She was the mother of Edward McGarry of San Francisco. The deceased was 70 years of age. The body will be buried tomorrow.

Henry A[?], 33 years of age, died yesterday of typhoid fever. The funeral will take place tomorrow.

Alburn Calden, a man of ?9 years and 11 months old, died at 935 Campbell street yesterday of general debility. He will be buried tomorrow from Albert Brown's funeral parlors.

Necrology.

Mrs. Julia E. Woodburn died in Temescal yesterday at the age of 49 years. The deceased came to California with Fielding lard, her father, and has resided here ever since. The deceased leaves a husband and three sons. Brief services were held at her late residence this afternoon, and the body was taken to Santa Clara for interment.

Fernando Peralta, a teamster living in Temescal, died at an early hour this morning, after a brief illness. The deceased was 56 years of age, and the funeral will occur Monday.

Mary Abray, the 3 months' old child of Manual F. and Julia Abray, died at 1009 Twenty-second street this morning. She will be buried tomorrow.
